Scarefest returns to the Alton Towers Resort in a months time with 2 NEW scare attractions for 2025! This years event features many changes and updates to the lineup and the event runs on selected dates from the 27th September - 2nd November which is the earliest start that Scarefest has ever had in its 19 year history! So let’s explore what’s new and what’s returning in the lineup for this year…

NEW FOR 2025! Edge Of The Forest: A Dark Forest Story. This BRAND NEW Maze debuting at the park this year will follow the story of the Leshwall creature who is taking over the Forest. The maze will be located on the path between the Towers & Dark Forest where Darkest Depths was located previously. The description on the website reads:
Whispers wind through the withered woods at the edge of the Dark Forest, where a forgotten cottage stands as the last remnant of a forgotten time. Locals speak of the Leshwall, a lurking presence that twists the trees and plays tricks on the mind.

Overall, Scarefest 2025 looks to be a great event! With the debut of 2 brand new scare attractions, the return of favourite mazes and family shows, the event has finally received the investment it’s needed. For many years, the event was dubbed ‘Stalefest’ by fans as the exact same lineup would return each year however now the event has had many changes. With new high quality mazes such as COMPOUND & Edge Of The Forest, the grand return of scare zones such as Burial Grounds & Dark Hollow plus the removal of Daz Games & The Attic for 2025 has made the event feel fresh and not stale as it has been in previous years…

The Future Of Scarefest….

What does the future hold for Scarefest? We know the event will be sticking around for a long time but what will happen to the event. I would love to see Altonville Mine Tours finally retire and be replaced in 2026. The maze has 100% served its time and has had a great run at the park but it’s very much overdue its removal. I would love to see scare zones remain regular at the park and I would love to see the mazes get swapped out every few years to keep the event fresh. I also think the entertainment and shows are key to Scarefest and I hope they stick around too, but with updated scripts and songs every year. I also think that Trick o’ Treat town is due a refresh or removal as it’s starting to remain very stagnant, alongside Amigos retirement soon as this building it’s located in needs to become a ride again.

But that’s the lineup for Scarefest 2025! Are you excited for this years event? 🎃👻
and your family with tasks to earn your passage back to the living realm!
